After twenty minutes, Naysa returned to the bedroom with a towel wrapped around her body and hair. “I won’t be long,” she said. “Any special plans for the afternoon?” She selected a pair of jeans and white linen top, and lace underwear.

His eyes shone as he watched with amusement from a loveseat in the corner.

“What’s so comical?” she asked, watching his reflection in the full-length mirror.

“Oh, nothing,” he said. “I like the way you move.”

“Then you would marvel at me on the dance floor.” She snapped her fingers while moving her hands and feet in tandem. Her hips swayed from left to right.

He joined her for an impromptu dance. “Your rhythm out of bed is almost as good as between the sheets.”

While nuzzling against his neck, she whispered, “You aren’t so bad, either.”

Naysa shooed him back to the seat while she tended to her face. When her makeup was complete, she returned the outfit to the closet and opted for a yellow cotton sundress instead.

“How did the meeting go?”

“Amara suggested a girls’ get-away to the cabin,” he said. “Luiza disagreed.”

“What do you think?” she asked, focusing her attention on him.

Glancing around the room, then meeting her gaze, he said, “I think protecting three women in a cabin is a less daunting task than in a twenty-thousand square-foot mansion.”

“When do we leave?” she asked, arching one brow.

“As soon as we return from Texas.”
